Collecting Data – Velodyne (HD32 or VLP16) only system

  1. Power up and start your access point. Wait one minute and then power and start your lumberjack logger and Velodyne system.
  2. Connect your cell phone, tablet, or computer to the access point's wifi network.
  3. Log in to your lumberjack logger with the credentials on the back of the access point and ensure it is properly configured to your INS and LiDAR unit in the “Settings” tab. Sample below:
  4. Change the name of your project by selecting “Change Project Name” from the main webpage of the lumberjack and insert the desired project name without using any spaces.
  5. Select the green “Start” button to log INS and the next green “Start” button to log LiDAR data.
    1. When the data is properly collecting, the unit sections on the main page will remain green if they have a positive growth rate. Typical growth rates for IMU data are between 0.00Mb/s-0.03Mb/s. Typical growth rates for Velodyne are ~2.5Mb/s (HD32) and ~1.20Mb/s (VLP16). See sample image below:
  6. At the end of a data collection, select “Stop” for each unit.
